Stock Aitken Waterman Blue Plaque

After overwhelmingly winning a public vote, Stock Aitken Waterman have been awarded a heritage blue plaque.

The plaque was unveiled on Wednesday 22nd January by Mike, Matt and Pete.

The Vineyard was packed full (or should we say Packjammed) with fans and ex-studio staff.

It was a great great day.

Mike Stock said of the award,

"It is a great honour to have this blue plaque installed at our old studios in SE1. We are so grateful for the fans who supported us all these years and who voted for this. This building was graced by the presence of some incredibly talented and hard-working people over the years but none more so than our team of engineers, mixers, tape-ops and everyone who ran the business - so many of whom were here to help us celebrate. So for everyone who could join us and for those who unfortunately couldn't make it, thank you!".

Paul Smith who nominated SAW for the plaque says,

"This award is long overdue. Stock Aitken Waterman had over 100 UK top 40 hits, 13 UK number ones and have sold in excess of 250 million records worldwide. I think that is certainly worth celebrating. Fans still make the pilgrimage to The Vineyard, to almost pay their respects to this incredible success, and now with the blue plaque that success will officially be recognised."
